Description
Three Pistols celebrates one of music's most influential and original bands, the Sex Pistols. Johnny Lydon (Johnny Rotten), Steve Jones, and Sid Vicious. The band's individuality and incredible sound, in particular, John Lydon's raw honesty and conviction in his writing so emotionally drove the Pistols and galvanized their legacy as one of music's most original and influential bands ever.
This artist original is a dark wash, watercolor, charcoal, and sage piece rendered directly to 190lb. watercolor stock, set in a gallery matting and framed in edged wood with a black finish. Approximately 28"x22"x2". Both the artwork and matting are hand-signed and dated. I also include a sandpaper swatch (affixed to the matting of the work) to all my original art pieces. The swatches are cut from the actual sandpaper of which I used while working on this piece. I use sandpaper to sharpen wordless graphite, sage, and charcoal. I started to include the swatches about seven years. I had never seen anyone else do that, and I just loved the idea of being able to include a special, personal touch to each original work. It's my way of making a connection to each person and saying thank you for your support.
